Diana opens new greyhound rescue kennels

One day it’s Buckingham Palace, the next, the NDAA’s Diana Lewis is back at work among the North Devon people and animals she cares for so much. A recent visit to Winswell, near Torrington found Diana opening four new kennels at a greyhound rescue centre…

High quality dog rescue accommodation is at a premium. As well as having its own busy rescue kennels, the North Devon Animal Ambulance is always grateful to have the use of facilities made available by local canine organisations.

Another close friend of the NDAA

That (and a beautifully sunny Devon day) was just one of the reasons why Diana was thrilled to be asked to open kennelling for four dogs at Sally Slater’s premises at Winswell, Torrington. Sally (at left in the picture above, with Diana and Wendy Johnson, one of the greyhound centre’s trustees) has been a close friend of the NDAA for years and is always available to help if she can take-in a dog or do home-checks in her area.

A high standard of greyhound care

With several trustees present to support the opening, speeches were made and the new kennels were officially opened. When the visitors were invited to have a look at the new kennels, everyone was extremely impressed with the high standard Sally provides for incoming dogs. Indeed, a pair of greyhounds was already in residence – and clearly approved off the facilities, as revealed by their very happy and relaxed manner. The launch ended with a wonderful buffet lunch kindly prepared by Sally and her supporters. We wish Sally good luck and continued success with her venture.
