Traffic delays on the M5 have become a regular feature of my drives down to Devon to meet Diana for another day out with the NDAA animal ambulance. This time, with the South West covered in frost and ice, I'd left Gloucestershire extra early. In fact, the journey down the motorway had gone smoothly and I was running ahead of schedule for a change - it was only when I turned off the Link Road at Landkey and slithered up the lane to the NDAA's Misty Unit that I fully appreciated the treacherous road conditions.
