Bushy, the little dog who hung on

Moving from ground level to the skies over the North Devon Coast, one lucky dog got an unexpected ride in a Coastguard helicopter recently. It all began when Bushy, a four-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier on holiday in North Devon with owners Margie and Hugh Brett from Oxfordshire, disappeared over cliffs at ‘Hangmans’ in the Combe Martin area. The Bretts were immediately advised to seek help from Diana and the NDAA. Then, as events unfolded over the next 14 days, the local Coastguard, RNLI and dozens of concerned local people got involved in the search for Bushy, walking the cliff tops, scaling the cliffs and doing drive-by’s to search inaccessible sections of the coast for the missing dog.
