Back in June 2007, as so often seems to happen at the end of spring, a pair of baby blackbirds was abandoned in their nest after a car struck their mother. Fortunately, the poor little (and very bald) nestling blackbirds were found, wet, cold, hungry and on the brink of death. The North Devon Animal Ambulance (NDAA) was called and the pair was quickly transferred to our intensive care unit at the Barnstaple Misty centre.
