Yes, she’s looking at you!
Gorgeous Tess is a 14-month-old (approximately) smooth-haired tri-coloured collie-cross who is keen for a new home. She’s lively and gets on well with other dogs, but needs firm control near livestock. The right owner won’t have any problems with this.
Occasional stubbornness from a friendly, energetic, generally obedient collie
Petite Tess is very energetic and obedient but can (like all of us) occasionally have a stubborn, wilful moment. We think her last home probably wasn’t an understanding one like yours – it still means that she digs in those heels every now and then. She also drools a bit when she’s in a car, and any more than a few minutes seems to set her off… She’s been tried with various therapies but with no success so far. She doesn’t actually get sick, just very uncomfortable. On the positive side, we feel that Tess is loyal, quick and intelligent enough to make a great companion dog, as she’s a very fast learner.
Are you experienced with collies?
If you could be the patient new owner she needs (probably with knowledge and experience of collies), we’re sure she’ll thrive. Once Tess is settled, we’re sure she’ll show you what an intelligent and eager-to-please little dog she is and be very loyal to her lucky new owner. You’ll need to have an active lifestyle too!
Meet Tess before the end of January
Tess is currently living on a small farm near Winkleigh. Could you offer her the experienced, active, loving home she needs (without too much car travel)? If you wish to meet her between now and the end of January please telephone (01837) 83810 and speak to Hilary or Stephen.
At the end of January, Tess will have to be transferred to our kennels at Instow due to lambing space being required on the farm. If she is still available then, she can be seen at Instow by arrangement with Julia or Chris on (01271) 860376.
Don’t hang around. We’d put money on Tess being snapped up well before the end of the month. So what are you waiting for?
PLEASE NOTE: All animals are subject to a NDDA home check before rehoming.
