In North Devon, we’re blessed with some of the most beautiful countryside in South West England. It’s home to a wonderful range of wildlife, ranging from tiny toads to soaring buzzards, seals and Exmoor's majestic deer.
Sadly, whether through accident, carelessness, a cruel minority of people or nature’s harsh realities, wild creatures often need our wildlife rescue services. From fledgling birds to a hazardous seal rescue, we’re here for wild animals.
Wildlife rescue in North Devon
Whether it's an abandoned fox cub, a hedgehog trapped in a discarded can, or an injured badger, we rescue North Devon wildlife. First, we give it first aid; then we transport it to RSPCA West Hatch. We’re a small volunteer charity with no social or political bias: just a passion for wild and domestic animal welfare in the county.
An animal ambulance and wildlife rescue centres
We’ve come a long way with wild animal rescue since we were founded in 2002. Since then we’ve built up a wonderful team of volunteers. We operate a small animal ambulance and a special care unit in Barnstaple. We also work closely with the RSPCA wildlife rescue centre at West Hatch (a leading British wildlife rescue centre).
How you can help
Fortunately, for every cruel or uncaring person there are thousands who appreciate North Devon’s wildlife. It’s people like you who support us and help by reporting wildlife in distress. Without you, we couldn’t offer our seven-day-a-week wildlife rescue service.
Here’s how you can help us rescue
North Devon’s wildlife:
